eGFP mRNA
(1) Product Description
Transfection of eGFP mRNA into cells results in the intracellular expression of enhanced green fluorescent (eGFP) protein, a wild-type protein (GFP) originally discovered in 1962 by Osamu Shimomura from the jellyfish Aequrea victoria. eGFP has unique luminescent properties that do not depend on any cofactor or substrate, but only on molecular oxygen. Therefore, GFP is often expressed as a gene fusion with target proteins to monitor the expression or localisation of target proteins. However, GFP has some obvious drawbacks in its application. In order to improve these drawbacks, molecular biologists have developed a variant of GFP, called eGFP, which has the same secondary structure as GFP.Importantly, the codon sequence of eGFP was optimised to be more suitable for expression in mammalian cells.
This product has been 5' end-capped, 3' end poly(A) tailed and N1-Me-Pseudo UTP-modified mRNA that mimics the processing of mature mRNAs in eukaryotes. mRNAs are capped in a co-transcriptional manner using 3-O-Me-GAG, forming a Cap1structure, which increased the stability and translational efficiency of the mRNA.The addition of the modified nucleotide N1-Me-Pseudo UTP reduces innate immune stimulation and increases mRNA stability. the addition of Poly(A) tails makes the mRNA more stable and improves the translation initiation efficiency of the mRNA.
